Why ECS?

We developed our NQP programme in 2021, with the first cohort entering in 2022. The ECS NQP programme has been developed with three clear goals:

Supportive framework to provide a safe transition to independent practice
Meaningful requirements that translate into real improvements in clinical practice and meet all CoP guidance
Ongoing development through funded courses and education

What do I get?

As part of the NQP framework, you will receive the following over the two years:

A named Educational Supervisor who will either be a senior Doctor in Emergency Medicine and/or Pre-hospital Critical Care or a Specialist Practitioner
Dedicated e-Portfolio to log your progress, which will be available for you to download and retain as evidence of your successful completion
A fully funded FutureQuals Level 3 CERAD Emergency Driving qualification
A fully funded Resuscitation Council UK e-ALS course to hone your clinical management and leadership of patients in cardiac arrest
A fully funded PHTLS, ECG Recognition or Minor Illness / Injury Course to support your development in an area of interest
Further education opportunities funded through the NQP pathway
Monthly free CPD workshops

I haven’t heard of ECS before, who are they?

ECS was founded by two Emergency Medicine Doctors in 2015, initially focussing on providing high quality enhanced and critical care to events. Having delivered a range of event medicine, ECS then diversified into both ambulance operations and an expanding education portfolio.

ECS now provides care to events nationally, and holds one of the first 5 year NHS Frontline contracts as the Hampshire regional provider for South Central Ambulance Service, delivering 999 cover across the county. In addition, we undertake a number of patient transfer and high dependency contracts, providing Paramedic led care to patients in Hampshire, Dorset, and beyond. Our education offering grows daily and we hold centre accreditations with Resuscitation Council (UK), NAEMT, Difficult Airway Site, Qualsafe and ALSG to name a few.

Where is ECS based?

We are based in Southampton with our brand new HQ sited in Nursling, SO16 0BT and early in 2024 we will be opening our second site in Portsmouth!

What is ECS like?

Well, we know we are biased, but it is a place where everyone is welcome and where there is an absolute focus on high quality patient care, led by people who deliver clinical care day in day out. To deliver excellent care, we recognise the need to ensure our people feel supported and are given plenty of opportunities to provide feedback which translates into the ongoing development of the company. Our clinicians have guided the development of our ambulance designs and our brand new HQ, and attend monthly forums to propose change and feedback.
