Why do I need medical cover for my event?
As an event organiser, you have a legal responsibility to provide it. All public events, regardless of their size, require cover from qualified medical professionals in case of any accidents or emergencies.
What areas do you cover?
Based in Hampshire, we primarily provide our services across London and the South of England including Sussex, Surrey, Wiltshire and Dorset, but often travel further afield having delivered care in Birmingham, Manchester, Aberdeen and beyond.
Can you provide medical cover for sporting events?
Yes, we are more than happy to provide our services at sporting events. We are highly experienced at providing services at mass participation sporting events and are specialists in exertional heat illness management, including cold water immersion. We cover a range of Triathlons, Half Marathons and Marathons including the Great Run events, Blenheim Triathlon and London Marathon Events.
Some of my staff have first aid certificates, do I still need to provide medical cover?
Yes, having a first aid certification is not the same as being a qualified professional. A first aid certificate demonstrates that the holder can provide basic medical care, but not to the level legally required for covering UK events.
Do I need a CQC (Care Quality Commission) registered medical provider for my event?
Currently in England, medical providers must be registered with the CQC to undertake ambulance transport from your event. Whilst certain exemptions currently exist for wider medical cover at temporary sporting and cultural events, this is likely to be in scope soon, and therefore, we would recommend utilising a CQC-registered provider.
